Two people have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder by counter terrorism police.

Humberside Police said a man and a woman, both aged 23, have been taken into custody for questioning.

The man was also arrested for possession of a weapon.

A police spokesperson said the bomb disposal unit was called in "after the discovery of potentially suspicious items at the residential address".

"We understand that local community may have concerns as a result of this activity," the spokesperson added.

"We would like to reassure them that this arrest is pre-planned and intelligence led and there is not believed to be any immediate risk to the local community."
