Photographs of Nottingham scenes taken by an American student 50 years ago are set to go on display in the city where they were taken and developed.

John Dean, a Baltimore-based artist, was studying at Nottingham Polytechnic - which went on to become Nottingham Trent University (NTU) - for a term back in 1976.

Residents and workers in and around the Arboretum, Hyson Green and Old Market Square were snapped going about their lives, with the photos later developed in NTU's own darkrooms.

Bonington Gallery will host the exhibition - A Semester in Nottingham, 1976 - from 21 March to 9 May.
