Man charged with murder after suspected stabbing

A 23-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of a man in his 50s after a suspected stabbing in a residential street, Kent Police say.

Officers were called to Noreen Avenue in Minster on the Isle of Sheppey shortly after 18:30 GMT on Saturday, where it was reported the victim had been assaulted and had injuries consistent with stab wounds.

The victim was confirmed dead and William Hepworth, from Alma Road, Sheerness, was charged with murder.

He is due to appear before Medway Magistrates' Court on Monday.
