Police said the collision happened on Harewood Road in Collingham

A cyclist has suffered serious head injuries after hitting a parked car.

The man, in his 40s, was taken to hospital in a critical condition after the collision in Collingham, Leeds, on Thursday at about 19:45 GMT.

The crash occurred on Harewood Road at the junction with Green Lane.

West Yorkshire Police said the man remained in hospital but his condition was now described as "stable" and urged witnesses to get in touch.
