A man was found dead in a residential property at Lyons Court, Dorking, Surrey Police say

The man whose death sparked a murder investigation has been named by police.

James Hall, 67, was found dead at a residential address in Dorking, Surrey, on 9 February.

Surrey Police said it had launched an investigation to establish the circumstances around his death.

The force earlier arrested a man in his 50s from Dorking on suspicion of murder, who has since been released on conditional bail.

"Our thoughts remain with James' family at this incredibly difficult time," said Det Insp Dom Yelling.

Surrey Police said officers were called to Lyons Court shortly before 11:40 GMT by Surrey Fire and Rescue Service, who had found his body when conducting a safety check in the area.

Lyons Court is an independent living scheme for people over the age of 55.

South East Coast Ambulance Service attended, but Hall was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Although we are not looking for anyone else in relation to this at this time, if you have any information which may be helpful, please get in touch as soon as possible," added Yelling.
