A person was injured in a fire that gutted an industrial building and was tackled by firefighters from four fire and rescue services.

Crews from nine Berkshire stations were sent to deal with the blaze in Milford Road in Reading after it was reported at about 23:55 GMT on Sunday.

They were joined from one crew from each of Surrey, Hampshire and Isle of Wight and Oxfordshire services. A 200m cordon was put up around the building after concerns about gas canisters in it.

The injured person suffered minor hand and facial burns and made their own way to the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading after being assessed by paramedics.
