Bus driver arrested after crash with teenage boy

A bus driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving following a crash involving a young pedestrian.

Emergency services were called to a section of Lincoln Road/Werrington Parkway in Peterborough at about 08:20 BST.

A teenage boy was taken to Addenbrooke's hospital, Cambridge, with life-threatening injuries.

Cambridgeshire Police said it was called to reports of a collision between a bus and a pedestrian and officers remained at the scene on the A15.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said an ambulance and a response car from the Magpas Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.

They added: "A teenage boy was transported by road to Addenbrooke's Hospital for further assessment and treatment."
