Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac will make their football commentary debut during Wrexham's upcoming Championship match against Swansea.

The co-chairmen of Wrexham AFC will provide "unfiltered, real-time" analysis during the "Welsh derby" fixture against Swansea City at SToK Cae Ras on 13 March.

The special broadcast - Live from Wrexham with Rob & Ryan - will air on Sky Sports, with the duo warning the broadcaster to be "ready with the bleep button".

On social media, Reynolds joked there would be "two slightly biased commentators" on duty, leading some fans to suggest Swansea co-owners Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart could join the broadcast for balance.

The one-off programme will mark five years since Reynolds and Mac, previously McElhenny, took control of the north Wales club.

The match coverage will be broadcast live from Wrexham, with a number of high-profile guests expected to join throughout the game.

"As with our decision to take over Wrexham five years ago, we genuinely have no idea how this is going to go, but we will give it our best," Mac and Reynolds said.

"Neither of us have called a sporting event of any variety, let alone a sport we basically learned the rules of five years ago.

"Either way, it will be another unpredictable day at the SToK Cae Ras and we can't wait."

Reynolds also said the pair had been preparing for the moment for years through "90-minute voice notes".

The actors bought Wrexham in 2021 for about £2m and have since invested millions into the club.

Under manager Phil Parkinson, Wrexham have achieved three successive promotions, taking the club from non-league football into the Championship.

The team currently sit sixth in the table and are in contention for the play-off places as they chase a possible fourth promotion.

The club's rise has also been documented in the series Welcome to Wrexham, which follows the journey of the club and the city since the takeover. The programme has won 10 Emmy Awards and helped bring global attention to the city and its football club.

"From the very beginning of Rob and Ryan's ownership, we have strived as a club to do things differently," said Michael Williamson, chief executive of Wrexham.
