Man arrested after woman, 89, dies in crash
Eddie MitchellA man has been arrested after an 89-year-old woman died in a crash in Worthing.
Sussex Police said the woman was a passenger in a BMW that was involved in a collision with a Ford Focus Estate on the A2032 Littlehampton Road at about 13:30 BST on Tuesday.
The woman died at the scene of the crash and her next-of-kin have been informed, police added.
The driver of the Ford Focus, a 21-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody.
The A2032 was closed in both directions while emergency teams worked at the scene.
Police are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with dashcam, CCTV, phone or doorbell footage, to come forward.
