Memorial bench for Prodigy frontman Keith Flint
BBCA bench has been placed at a church in memory of The Prodigy's lead singer Keith Flint who was buried there seven years ago.
The artwork can be found at St Mary's Church in Bocking near Braintree, where the singer grew up.
Frontman Flint was found dead at his home in North End in Essex in March 2019, aged 49.
The company which helped design the bench described the final product as one of its "most explosive and most secretive jobs".
"The vision for the bench was to create something striking, unique, and evocative of Keith and his unforgettable, electric character," said a spokesperson for the firm, Free Range Designs.
Band manager John Fairs and Prodigy founder Liam Howlett worked on the design and family members signed it off, the company said.
The Prodigy/FacebookThe design of the seat has been praised by many people commenting on the band's Facebook post about the bench.
It was inspired by Prodigy's number one single, Firestarter.
"It was essential that the entire piece was scorched jet black," the designers said.
"Fire was not just inspiration - it was intrinsic to the creative process. Firestarter blaring through the workshop as we burned and blackened the oak.
"Whilst we had a lot of fun making this iconic bench, it has also been a very emotional process, as is often the case when we make memorial pieces.
"In this instance, we are remembering someone who reshaped a generation of music."
Flint often gelled his hair into the shape of two devil-horn fins, and the devil-horn silhouette is etched boldly into the back rest of the bench.
The Prodigy/FacebookThousands of fans lined the streets in Braintree in 2019 for Flint's funeral.
That year, a mural of the singer, with his trademark pierced tongue sticking out, was spray-painted on to a water tank at Braintree Town FC.
An inquest was told the electro-punk singer had cocaine, alcohol and codeine in his system when he died, and the coroner recorded an "open conclusion".
The Prodigy - which includes Howlett and Keith Palmer (known as Maxim) - headlined Glastonbury in 2025 and are staging a world tour this year.
