The M48 Severn Bridge has reopened after strong winds forced it to close overnight.

The bridge was shut between junction 2 at Chepstow and junction 1 at Aust after its sensors recorded wind speeds of 60mph, National Highways said.

It is now open in both directions and there is currently no reported congestion in the area, according to traffic monitoring service Inrix.

A weight limit of 7.5t, introduced in May last year due to deteriorating cables, remains in force.
