Worcester Wolves crowned national league champions
Worcester WolvesWest Midlands basketball squad Worcester Wolves have been crowned national league champions.
The men's squad, made up of University of Worcester students, became champions of the National League One Pool A, on Sunday.
It comes after the team secured a victory in their final game of the season against Merseysiders, St Helens Saints, winning by 81 points to 69.
Head coach Dean Blake told BBC Hereford and Worcester he was "proud" and "grateful" for the accolade, adding "these young men make all the sacrifices and commitment to get it done and we are fortunate that we're the team that has been awarded for those sacrifices."
"It's been a long road, 21 games, so I'm happy they can share in these moments. On their journey I want this to be a checkpoint, I want more for them whether that's individually or collectively, there is more to come," Blake added.

Earl Burgess, from South Carolina in the US, joined the team in September 2025.
"This is my first time overseas, building bonds with my teammates over these games and finally ending on a high note is a great accomplishment," he said.
"I'm really proud of my teammates and my coach."
Wilfrid Santhe, who became a member of the team in 2021, has been "a linchpin" for its progression, the head coach said.
"I'm happy to win it finally after all these years, it's good to win in my last year." Santhe said.
Now, in the post-season playoffs, Wolves will play their first match on 28 March at the University of Worcester Arena.
It will either be against London Stars or Barking Abbey, depending on which of the sides finishes fourth in Pool B of National Basketball League Division One.
