Three arrests after man found dead in wheelie bin

Three people have been arrested after a man was found dead in a wheelie bin in a Coventry park.

A man and a woman, both in their 40s, and a man in his 20s were each held on suspicion of murder and assisting an offender.

They were detained overnight in Blackpool, police said.

Efforts to formally identify the dead man and establish how he died were continuing, the West Midlands force added.

Officers were called by a member of the public at 17:00 GMT on Friday to Cash's Park off Daimler Road.

Police estimate the age of the deceased man found there to be between 40 and 50.

They believe he was hit by a car before being moved to the site.

Over the weekend, a description was released of the dead man's distinctive tattoos. They include a marking on his back featuring a cross with a snake wrapped around it, with the words "little stardust".

He also had a tattoo on his right arm which said "nan", along with a clover and the colours of the Irish flag.

Det Ch Insp Phil Poole thanked members of the public who had been in touch with information so far.

He said officers were continuing to appeal to anyone who might know more about what happened to make contact.

He said at the weekend he was particularly keen to hear from anyone who had noticed unexplained damage to a vehicle, perhaps of a partner or relative.
