Guernsey's main ferry operator said its online booking service had resumed on Thursday morning, after a week-long outage.

The outage began following a fire at a data centre, a facility housing IT infrastructure, which caused servers to go offline last Thursday.

Since the incident, the company had been unable to access its reservations system so customers could not make or amend bookings online or through its contact centre.

The company released a statement on its website after the systems had been restored: "We apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience during this period."
