A road has been closed after a crash involving an overturned lorry and a car in Bedfordshire.

Police said it happened in Mill Road in Thurleigh, north of Bedford, at about 16:00 GMT.

Bedfordshire Police said the road was closed between the junction of Milton Road and Robins Folly and was "likely to be closed for a while".

Bedford Borough Council said the road was "expected to remain shut for some time whilst investigations are carried out, and substantial repair works may be required before it can be re-opened again".
