Manslaughter arrest made after fatal pub attack

A man has been arrested after another man died following a reported assault at a West Sussex pub, police say.

Emergency services were called to The Heath Tavern in Sussex Road, Haywards Heath, at about 22:50 GMT on Monday.

A 63-year-old man was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital in a serious condition, where he was pronounced dead.

A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and remains in custody, a Sussex Police spokesperson said.

Officers are still investigating the circumstances around the man's death.
