Christian Hammond was jailed at Newcastle Crown Court

A rapist who abused three children when he was a teenager has been jailed for 10 years.

Christian Hammond, 30 and from Hetton-le-Hole, Sunderland, groomed his young victims with his offending coming to light several years later, Newcastle Crown Court heard.

Judge Robert Spragg praised the "bravery" of the victims for reporting Hammond's actions.

He denied wrongdoing but was found guilty of multiple offences include raping two children, causing children to engage in sexual acts and sexual assault of a child.
