A man who was left trapped in a car after a crash in Herefordshire has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, while another has been arrested.

The collision involved two cars in Shobdon, Leominster, at about 22:45 GMT on Wednesday, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

Two ambulances went to the scene, at the junction of Ledicot Lane and the B4362, with crews dealing with three patients, one of whom was trapped inside his vehicle.

He was later taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in Birmingham, after fire crews freed him from the wreckage. A second man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, West Mercia Police said.

The incident also left a woman with "potentially serious injuries" and she was taken to Hereford County Hospital. The third patient was discharged at the scene.
