Two teenagers have been injured after they were attacked in an alleyway in Littlehampton.

The 17-year-old boys said they were stabbed by two men wearing balaclavas on Thursday, at about 22:00 GMT.

Sussex Police said the attack happened in an alley between Hampton Way and Kent Road. Both boys are being treated in hospital.

Officers said the pair were being treated for their injuries. The men who attacked them were said to be wearing black balaclavas and dressed in black, one about 5ft 6in (1.67m) and the other about 6ft 2in (1.88m).

Det Insp Lee Simmonds said: "We are urgently carrying out local enquiries to identify what happened and the identity of those involved.

"The attackers left items at the scene, and we are forensically examining these as part of our investigation."

He urged anyone who has information to contact the force or Crimestoppers.
