A bridge control tower is back up and running after being overhauled and upgraded.

The project saw the original structure removed, new foundations built and a modern tower and cabin fitted to meet current building regulations.

The tower, at Littlehampton Ferry Footbridge, now has an improved weather station and digital equipment.

West Sussex County Council's transport lead Joy Dennis said: "This modernised infrastructure will help ensure the continued safe and reliable operation of the bridge."

The upgraded structure is designed to function for at least 25 years.
