Police with Tasers brought an end to the knifeman's 20-minute rampage

A knifeman's 20-minute rampage outside a supermarket has been shown in court.

Azzedine Mahmoudi, a 46-year-old former maths teacher, wounded two people outside Aldi in Bevois Valley Road, Southampton, on 3 August 2025.

Police praised passers-by who intervened and distracted him until officers armed with Tasers brought an end to the emergency.

Mahmoudi, who was in a pyschotic state at the time of the attacks, has been jailed for two and a half years at Southampton Crown Court.
