Homes in Elm Rise have been affected by a burst water main

A number of homes have been left without water or with low pressure after a burst main flooded part of a residential road.

The incident happened in Elm Rise, in Witham, Essex, on Saturday.

Essex and Suffolk Water confirmed there was a "seven inch (18cm) water main burst", the water was not sewage and workers were on-site trying to repair the damage.

The company told the BBC it was too early to say when the main would be fixed.
