Police are ramping up patrols in hotspot areas for anti-social behaviour

Police patrols in "hotspots" for anti-social behaviour in Guernsey are being ramped up.

"Firm, proactive action" is to be taken at sites including the Bathing Pools, Admiral Park and the bus terminus, Guernsey Police said.

The force added the areas, all in the area of St Peter Port, were hotspots for anti-social behaviour and the operation involved high-visibility patrols aimed to "deter offending and help keep people safe".

Emmie Bougourd, of the Youth Commission for Guernsey and Alderney, said increased police presence in trouble spots was "really useful".

Guernesey Police said: "Locations such as the bathing pools, Beau Sejour, Admiral Park and the bus terminus are regular hotspots for anti‑social behaviour, and as such we continue to take firm, proactive action in response.

"Even incidents that may seem minor can have a real impact on the community, which is why we treat every report seriously.

"Information from the community plays a vital role in helping us act quickly and effectively, and we encourage everyone to keep reporting concerns.

"We will continue to ramp up patrols as needed."
