Bomb squad called after WW2 devices found in pit
Cambridgeshire PoliceThe bomb squad was called in after 76 World War Two bombs were found in a farmland pit.
The practice bombs were discovered in an ordnance disposal pit dug deep in a field off Longstowe Road, close to Cambridge Gliding Club and the village of Longstowe.
They were found by construction workers who were digging trenches for drains.
A controlled explosion was carried out by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team, Cambridgeshire Police said.

Cambridgeshire PoliceOfficers, who recently posted images from the scene, said the bombs were found at about 13:40 BST on 20 August.
