Attempted murder arrests after man 'stamped on'

Three teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man had his head stamped on in a city's shopping area, police have said.

The man, aged in his 30s, was attacked by a group outside Boots in Above Bar Street, Southampton, on Wednesday shortly before 20:50 GMT.

Hampshire police said he remained in hospital in a serious condition.

The arrested boys, two aged 16 and one 15, who are all from the city, remain in custody.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary is urging witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage who may have seen the group before or after the attack to come forward.
