Former teacher charged with child sexual offences

A former teacher has been charged with sexual offences alleged to have taken place against children in the 1990s.

John Hoyle, 69, is charged with committing a total of 16 sexual offences against two victims in the Wakefield district between 1993 and 1999.

The charges are nine counts of indecent assault of a girl aged under 16, three counts of rape of a girl under 16 and four further counts of indecent assault of a girl under 16.

Hoyle, of Pontefract, has been bailed to appear at Leeds Magistrates' Court on 15 April.
