A murder investigation has been ended by police after they concluded there was "no third party involvement" in a man's death.

The probe was launched in May 2025 when a man in his 30s died after being found unresponsive in a tent on land near the Mount Pleasant Park and Ride site, off Mercery Road, in Weymouth.

Two men, both of no fixed abode, were arrested on suspicion of murder and released on police bail.

Dorset Police has now said it will take no further action after finding no evidence that anybody else was involved in the death.

Det Ch Insp George Graham, of Dorset County CID, said: "Our thoughts remain with the family and loved ones of the man who sadly died.

"We have continued to keep them updated as we carried out a full and thorough investigation into the circumstances of the death.

"Following extensive inquiries, we are satisfied that there is nothing to indicate any third party involvement that caused the man's death."

The force said the death would now be dealt with by the coroner.
