Five arrested over £1m violent home burglary
Peter ByrneFive people have been arrested after a couple were attacked and £1m of luxury goods stolen in a house burglary.
A man was assaulted with a sledgehammer and his wife was dragged upstairs during the burglary at a property off Knowle Road in Kimberley on 4 December.
Four men aged 18, 21, 23, 24 and a 33-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the burglary.
They have now been released on bail while an investigation continues, Nottinghamshire Police said.
Among the luxury items stolen were watches and designer handbags from Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, Jimmy Choo, and Dior.
The offenders also took a mobile phone, and a purse containing bank cards.
Three men aged 18, 21 and 23 were arrested on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.
The 18-year-old man was also arrested on possession with intent to supply a Class B drug.
A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and a woman, 33, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery and possession of a Class A drug.
Det Insp Simon Harrison said: "While the arrests of these five suspects are a significant development, our inquiries are very much ongoing into this appalling crime.
"Our hard work continues in this investigation to bring those responsible to justice."
