A street has reopened after buildings were evacuated when a "potentially hazardous substance" was found inside a business premises.

Police, firefighters and the ambulance service were called to Baxter Gate, Loughborough, Leicestershire, shortly after 13:00 GMT.

Following examination, Charnwood Police said in a social media post the substance was "believed to be salt" and stressed that the original call had been made in good faith.

Emergency services thanked everyone for their cooperation and understanding during the response to the report.
