Man murdered in 'deliberately targeted' attack in street

A man has been murdered in a "deliberately targeted" attack carried out in broad daylight on a Glasgow street.

James Greenhorn was killed in Tollcross at about 12:25 on Monday after a disturbance broke out in the area's Dalness Close.

The 61-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Scotland said it was following a definite line of inquiry.

Det Ch Insp David Lamont said: "We believe that Mr Greenhorn was deliberately targeted. His death is being treated as murder.

"Our investigation is ongoing and we are following a definite line of inquiry."

Det Ch Insp Lamont added that police would have additional patrols in the area, and anyone with any concerns should contact officers.
