A new junction has opened after months of closures and traffic jams which turned 30-minute journeys into four-hour round trips.

The A38/B4008 junction at Hunts Grove opened in its new form overnight, and developers Crest Nicholson said it was created to support housing growth.

Previously, those living in Hunts Grove near Quedgeley could only leave the housing estate via Waterwells Roundabout.

A new signalised junction has been installed across the A38 and the flyover is being altered to carry two-way traffic.

The slip road from the A38 and the flyover had been closed since June, with residents telling the BBC last week they felt "trapped like prisoners".

A southbound stretch of the flyover remains closed for now.
