Man charged with suspected arson attack on 5G mast
Getty ImagesA man has appeared in court charged with multiple offences following reports of suspected arson attacks in Surrey - including one on a 5G mast.
The mast fire, which is being investigated by Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE), occurred in Bittams Lane in Ottershaw on 21 November.
The fire was extinguished and there were no reported injuries.
Milo Creese, 39, from Murray Road, Ottershaw, appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday.
He is charged with two counts of arson, arson with intent or reckless as to life being endangered, criminal damage, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and two counts of common assault or battery committed against an emergency worker.
The charges are in connection with several suspected reports of arson between 31 October and 21 November in the Ottershaw area.
Creese has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance at the Old Bailey on 16 January, according to CTPSE.
