Izar Ahmed ran a "sophisticated" drugs line, police said

A heroin-dealer who "brought significant harm to vulnerable people" has been jailed for seven years.

Izar Ahmed, 32, of Leegomery in Telford, Shropshire, was arrested in January 2023 after a police investigation linked him to a drugs operation in the town.

West Mercia Police said his phone was seized and investigators found conversations between him and another man about sales, available stock and financial returns.

Ahmed pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of class A drugs at Shrewsbury Crown Court, and was sentenced on Wednesday.

The force said the phone messages suggested he made a total of £32,000 from his drug deals.

Det Sgt Patryk Ogonowski said: "Ahmed was running a sophisticated and profit‑driven drugs line that brought significant harm to vulnerable people and to our communities."
