Stephen Jamieson, who was arrested in the United Arab Emirates on 16 September, arrived back in Glasgow on Thursday.
Jamieson, 42, was taken into custody in Dubai on the same day as three of Scotland's most high-profile gangland figures.
Steven Lyons, Ross McGill and Steven Larwood were all released in October.
On Friday he was was charged with six offences when he appeared in private before the city's sheriff court.
Jamieson is alleged to have directed someone to commit a serious offence and is further accused of being involved in serious organised crime.
He is also said to have been involved in four charges of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs.
Jamieson, whose address was given as Dubai, made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
He is due to reappear within eight days
Police Scotland earlier said Jamieson had been arrested and charged over serious organised crime offences across Scotland during 2020.
A spokesperson added: "We are grateful for the co-operation and support from the National Crime Agency and law enforcement partners in the United Arab Emirates."
BBC Scotland News understands that detectives from the force travelled to the UAE earlier this week and escorted Jamieson back to Glasgow.
The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office said: "We supported the family of a British national who was detained in the UAE."
The extradition is thought to be the first from Dubai to Scotland.
It comes seven months after Sean McGovern - one of the alleged most senior members of the Kinahan organised crime gang - was extradited from the UAE to Ireland.
