A radiographer with almost 40 years of experience has been celebrated by a hospital trust for changing "innumerable lives" for the better.

Paul Newman won the Eastern Radiography Professional of the Year 2025 during a ceremony in London.

The expert, who works at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, was nominated for the award by his colleagues.

The trust said Newman showed "kindness, dedication and professionalism" in his work.

"[This] is evidenced in improved radiographic practice, better standards of management and staff relations and, above all, greater focus on patient care and outcomes," it said.

"This adds up to innumerable lives changed for the better."

Newman has worked in roles including management, an elected Society of Radiographers representative and a front-line radiographer.

Those judging the award were told how patients often praised him for his care.

The hospital trust added: "In his nomination, Paul's colleague highlighted how much of a fantastic support he is to colleagues, always there to offer advice and support."
