Voters in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough will be going to the polls in local elections on Thursday.

Peterborough City Council and Cambridge City Council will elect roughly a third of their councillors, while all members are up for election in the district councils of South Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire.

Neither Fenland or East Cambridgeshire are set to have routine elections until 2027, however because of local government reorganisation, it is possible that elections for new unitary authorities will take place instead.

Peterborough's vote count is due to take place overnight, while the others are set to happen during the day on Friday.

In Peterborough 18 out of 60 councillor seats will be contested this year.

Cambridge has 15 of the 42 seats up for election.

All 45 seats on South Cambridgeshire District Council will be contested, as will all 52 seats at Huntingdonshire District Council.

Cambridge, South Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire sit at the district level of local authorities, while Peterborough is a unitary authority.

Polling stations are open from 07:00 BST until 22:00.

A full list of candidates are available on the councils' websites.
