Man who sprayed substance at people jailed
West Midlands PoliceA man who sprayed a noxious substance at people in a park has been jailed for four years.
Bradley Baker, 32, was arrested on 14 August, 2024, within two hours of four people suffering the effects of the spray in Sutton Park in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands Police said.
Two were treated by ambulance crews at the scene, while two others required further checks at hospital. Police said none of the victims suffered any lasting physical injuries.
Baker was found guilty of four counts of administering a noxious substance and one of outraging public decency. On 16 March he was jailed for four years at Birmingham Crown Court.
He had formerly worked as a journalist, including doing some freelance work for the BBC.
