Changes to Home Bargains store plans submitted
BBCAn electrical pillar and 5m (16ft) fence are part of revised plans for a retailer's first store outside the UK.
The States of Guernsey's Development and Planning Authority approved plans from Home Bargains in June 2024 to have a store at the former Quayside site on North Side, St Sampson.
A fresh application has been submitted to the States by T J Morris, the homeware discount store's parent company, with variations to the original proposal.
Along with the electrical pillar and fencing, the revisions included the relocation of condenser units for the store's air conditioning.
Lovell Ozanne and Partners, the architects acting on behalf of T J Morris, said the electrical pillar had been a requirement from Guernsey Electricity in order to supply power to the site.
"The pillar is relatively small in scale and will be located along the alleyway on the north boundary behind the existing high perimeter granite walls, so will not be visible to the general public," it said.
The architect's firm said the 5m (16ft) metal mesh fence would be placed around the store's garden centre area.
It said nine condensers would be moved away from the northern boundary of the site and put behind a screen near the garden centre area.
