Embo is a small village on the east Sutherland's Moray Firth coast

About 50 new homes have been proposed for Embo in east Sutherland.

Developer Coul Enterprises said if given the go-ahead the properties would be constructed in phases and delivered in a way that "respects the character and scale" of the village.

Embo has a population of about 300 people and is near Coul Links, an area of dunes and a long sandy beach on the Moray Firth coast.

Initial plans have been lodged with Highland Council.

Coul Enterprises said the proposals would be discussed at community events.

Embo is known widely for a holiday park, Grannies Heilan Hame.
