Man pleads guilty to attempted murder and assault
Getty ImagesA man who was the focus of a hunt by police in Bradford last summer has pleaded guilty to attempted murder over the offence for which he was being sought.
In August, police appealed for information about Lee Boocock, 37, following an attack on a man and a woman at a property in Shipley.
Boocock, of Prospect Avenue, Shipley, was arrested a few days later and charged with the attempted murder of the man and assaulting the woman.
Appearing at Bradford Crown Court on Monday, he pleaded guilty to both offences and was remanded in custody ahead of sentencing in May.
At the time of the search for Boocock, it was reported that the man involved in the attack had been seriously injured and the woman had suffered minor injuries.
As well as pleading guilty to attempted murder and assault, Boocock also admitted having a knife in his possession on Prospect Avenue on 15 August.
Judge Jonathan Rose, Honorary Recorder of Bradford, adjourned his sentencing until 27 May for various reports to be prepared, but he told Boocock that he had pleaded guilty to very serious offences.
"I'm duty-bound to warn you that the nature of these offences and the circumstances of their commission mean the court will have to consider the question of dangerousness," the judge explained to him.
He added that could mean an extended prison sentence or even a life sentence for the offence of attempted murder.
