'Calculated and brazen' burglar jailed
Lincolnshire PoliceA woman who pretended to be the victim of domestic violence while burgling homes has been jailed for more than two years.
Rachael Buckett, 42, of Alexandra Road in Skegness, burgled four homes in the Dorothy Avenue area of the town in August.
Buckett was caught after asking one of her victims for a glass of water - which led to her being identified through her fingerprints.
After she was jailed on Friday at Lincoln Crown Court, Det Con Oliver Sleber said: "This offender's actions were calculated and brazen, carried out with clear premeditation and a complete lack of remorse."
Buckett stole phones, purses, laptops and other personal property, as well as food and toiletries.
Lincolnshire Police said Buckett had carried out the burglaries "indiscriminately" and had been seen on CCTV removing items from properties and taking them to an unknown location.
"Buckett's behaviour left victims terrified and deeply shaken, with their sense of safety and confidence severely rattled," Det Con Sleber said.
"At the time of these offences, Bucket was already on court bail for a previous series of burglaries, demonstrating a blatant disregard for the law and for the impact on her victims."
Buckett has now been jailed for two years and eight months.
