A new outdoor play park has been built in the Point area of the Isle of Lewis for children wanting to practise their skateboard, scooter and bike skills.

The Knock Youth Club and Café has created the £108,000 facility, which covers more than 5,400 sq ft (500 sq m) and has a variety of ramps.

The project had funding support from a number of sources including the National Lottery, Point & Sandwick Trust and NHS Western Isles.

The health board's chief executive Gordon Jamieson said it was delighted to have been able to support an excellent resource for children and young people which would contribute to their physical and mental wellbeing.
