Sunbathers enjoying the hot weather at Cullercoats Beach in North Shields

Temperatures are predicted to surpass 29C (84.2F) today in some areas of north-east England and Cumbria.

However, by Sunday - although it will still be warm - there is the chance of a few thundery showers.
