Drug kits handed out to prevent overdoses
BBCDrug overdose prevention kits are being given out in North East Lincolnshire.
They contain Naloxone, a first aid medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose, the council said.
It comes after four people died and others were injured in a recent spate of suspected drug overdoses in Grimsby.
The kits can be ordered online for home delivery or picked up at the area's drug and alcohol services centres, as well as some pharmacies.
Tina Holt, from North East Lincolnshire Recovery Partnership, said she had first-hand experience of administering naloxone to people who had overdosed.
"Naloxone buys time for an ambulance to arrive," she said.
"I have used naloxone a few times and, without it, the person may have passed away.
"Naloxone saves lives, be a lifesaver and carry naloxone."
