A main road in Hull is to be closed for four weeks.

Hull City Council said a stretch of National Avenue would undergo resurfacing work. The road, which connects Bricknell Avenue and County Road North, will be closed between 30 March and 24 April.

There will also be improvements made to cycle lanes, pedestrian crossings, traffic signals and footpaths.

Further work between 4 May and 25 May will affect part of National Avenue to the south of the junction with County Road North. Traffic lights will be in place and the left turn from National Avenue into County Road North will be closed.

Further details of the closures are available on the council's website.

Mark Ieronimo, the council's portfolio holder for transport, said: "We aim to tackle wear and tear before it becomes a bigger problem."
