A man has been arrested after a teenager was sexually assaulted in Cornwall, police have said.

Devon and Cornwall Police received reports a 17-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted in an alleyway near Launceston College at about 21:20 GMT on Sunday.

The force added the victim escaped after a dog walker disturbed the attack.

Police said a helicopter and patrol units were deployed and a man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault. Officers have asked for anyone with information or video footage related to the incident to contact them.
