Two more murder arrests over mosque stabbing

Two more teenagers have been arrested after an 18-year-old was fatally stabbed outside a mosque in Smethwick.

Zeshan Afzal was found with serious injuries on Oldbury Road following disorder on 20 February, and died shortly afterwards.

Seven teenagers have been charged with murder since his death, West Midlands Police said.

Two further boys, aged 14 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of murder after warrants were carried out over the weekend and remained in police custody for questioning, the force added.

Police said their investigation remained active and they were continuing to ask for anyone with information to come forward.

Information can also be submitted anonymously through Crimestoppers.
