Commuters face long queues on the M6 after crash

A crash on the M6 in Cheshire has left early morning commuters with delays of up to 90 minutes.

National Highways (NH) said the crash happened on the southbound carriageway between junctions 18 for Homes Chapel and 17 for Sandbach, and that three of four lanes were closed.

NH said normal traffic conditions were not expected until 11:30 GMT.

It is not yet known whether the freezing conditions played any role in the crash.
