Woman jailed after imprisoning partner in flat
Lincolnshire PoliceA woman has been sentenced to 34 months in a young offenders institution after she threatened to slit her partner's throat.
Lily Andrade, 20, was arrested by armed officers after she called police herself from a flat in Ashcroft Road, Gainsborough in September 2025.
When officers arrived Andrade threw dumbbells from the window.
Andrade was sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court earlier after she pleaded guilty to two counts of false imprisonment and assaulting an emergency worker.
The court heard that during the incident Andrade told her partner: "I will hurt you in the future as I can't control myself."
In an impact statement, the victim described how her mental health had deteriorated following the incident.
"I did not feel safe in my own home and was forced to live in a women's refuge," she added.
In mitigation, Andrade's lawyer Terry Boston said his client had been seeking help for her mental health problems since school, but none had been provided.
"No actual harm was done except to the mental health of the victim," he added.
Passing sentence, Recorder Simon King told Andrade that what she did "was effectively to imprison her".
The judge added: "Your actions had the effect of creating that situation, where a team of armed officers forced entry into the premises."
A restraining order was also imposed which prevents Andrade from contacting the victim.
