Striking cloud plumes amid calm, cold weather
Malc ParrSeveral tall cloud plumes have been spotted in the skies across East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire over the past few days.
The clouds were caused by either warm air or steam, generated from different power station cooling towers in the area.
BBC climate correspondent Paul Hudson said the plumes were larger than usual due to the weather conditions.
He said: "It was clear and cold with no wind, so the plumes rose vertically to a higher level than normal before dispersing, so they will have been seen from a bigger distance."
